Daniel Scott is an award winning Canadian composer, music score producer, orchestrator and conductor for film and television. With extensive experience in live action as well as animation, he has produced music scores for more than thirty films and documentaries and over twenty television series.

He started his career in Montreal as arranger, artistic director and choir conductor for the direction of french adaptations of commercials, songs for television series and films from Warner Brothers, Walt Disney pictures and Pixar films such as
Aladdin, Thumbelina, Pocahontas, Toy Story 2 and A Xmas Carol with Jim Carey.

As a film composer, Daniel’s musical voice spans from orchestral to hybrid, epic to intimate. Raised between french Montréal and New York city he developed a unique and adaptable musical sensibility perfectly suited to film scoring.

A storyteller at heart, Daniel is a team player who values collaboration and understands that every project not only requires a great score but the delivery of the very finest of musical production.

Among other projects, he has recently finished scoring Sagatoon’s and China Lion’s 3D animated feature film Troll: the tale of a tail with L.A. based director Kevin Monroe, which will be released worldwide throughout 2019. He has also created the soundtrack for renowned Israeli director Shemi Zarhin’s « emotionally rich and beautifully textured » (L.A.Times) The Kind Words and the score for all five films of the documentary series Montréal, mon amour, mon histoire for which he received two Gémeaux Awards nominations.
2019 started with a collaboration with British director Peter Dodd on a European commercial disguised as a charming short film titled Flo & Wing. The year continues with the scoring of Altötting for German director Andreas Hykade and the creation of the music for the action adventure series Amos: the mask hunter for IceWorks Pictures based on Bryan Perro’s best selling novels Amos Daragon.
